My bushmaster which has seen little use has about a 20% failure to fire on Wolfe ammo. The firing pin strikes look light. I have not had a failure to fire using commercial ammo or my reloads. Is this just a weak spring or does Wolf have a reputation for hard primers?

Re: AR 15 light firing pin strikes

Which Bushmaster do you have? Some flavor of M4gery or a varmint model? Which trigger do you have? Are you sure that the bolt was going fully into battery?

If there's a primer that your rifle won't pop, something is wrong with the rifle. More info about the rifle would help.

If you've got a lot of the ammo on hand...purchase a Wolf Extra Powere Spring for your lower receiver. S&W ships this with their 5.45x39 upper for a reason and I had light primer strikes in my 7.62x39 AR-15 upper receiver for the same reason. Very hard primers.
