Suppressors Ar 15 Pistol

Re: Ar 15 Pistol

There are some threads on this in here somewhere.

How the lower is marked is not determinative....it had to be booked the first time it was transfered as a "pistol." Once the lower is part of a "rifle" it cannot be a "pistol" unless it was a "pistol" first.

Clear as mud?

Verticle fore grip is a no-go on a pistol.

Re: Ar 15 Pistol

HiCap is right, when you purchase a stripped lower, register it as a handgun, you are covered. You can also use the lower to build a rifle if you scrap the pistol project.

Wrong info,Outsyd and my dealer both confirmed a lower is a lower is a lower.Don't know when the rules changed, but they did.

In the great cannon of ridiculous and pointless gunlaws, this has always struck me as one of the most indefensible and foolish!

Re: Ar 15 Pistol

You can no longer designate a lower as a pistol lower on a 4473. The new 447s it is logged as a reciever ... and a reciever only .... not a pistol reciever or a rifle reciever ..... a lower is a lower is a lower.

Build what you want but dont put a stock on it if you want to make it a pistol, once a stock is on it ...... its a rifle.

I just found that out this morning from the local dealer,I've registered a couple of receivers as handguns at no extra cost, but some dealers charged an extra $40 plus for the Pistol stamped lowers.I know a few guys that paid it because they were worried about violating the NFA.

Re: Ar 15 Pistol

ar15 pistols are worthless. They jamb a lot. Very dirty. loud as hell. Have the pointed closed buffer tube in the back. Piss off people at the range.

Front grip as stated = AOW $5 tax stamp through NFA/BATF
