I am very interested in buying this gun my local sportsmans has them, ive looked at some from christensen arms, all of the semi auto .223 are like 1,500$ with just iron sights. Anyone know where to go
Get acquianted with the search function (click the link in my sig line). There should be plenty of information on "budget-minded" or "cheap" AR-15 rifles/carbines floating around. Also, don't forget the braintrust on AR15.com which should be your first, last and only line of defense for future AR-related questions.
ARFCOM also has a HUGE "Equipment Exhange" section where a person can buy just about anything AR-related from complete rifles/carbines to parts/accessories, including many posts that will lead you to cheap, complete AR-15s.
Also, judging by several of your posts thus far...you probably need to familiarize yourself with the various sub-forums here on the Hide. We have a dedicated Semi-Auto Rifles sub-forum, so a question like yours generally doesn't belong in the "Sniper's Hide Equipment" sub-forum.
Go to "Google" and type in "AR15".. you will get a listing of online stores that sell any/every type of AR system out there. Pick a budget and features you want and hit the "BUY" button. Have your FFL (that's your local gun shop) send them a copy of their FFL paperwork and the online store will send the gun to them for you to pickup an fill out your proper paperwork. There is a fee for this from your dealer.. find out what that is.. usually around $20
We also have LOT's of great vendors on this site you should support if you plan on using this as a source of intel and knowledge. Hit the "Vendor" sale section below or the "Member" for sale section. Many, many great guys/gals and deals on this site.
Please make an attempt to learn to use your search in the future also. Replies to basic questions that can be found easily can go from the "I feel sorry for this guy" to "downright awnry (but funny as well). So have some thick skin.. we've all been there.
AR's have two systems:
1. Direct Impingment
2. Piston Driven
Difference as stated above... gas drives both systems. But the DI system pushes the gas back into the chamber to push the bolt back. The Piston driven pushes a piston near the gas block on the barrel to push the bolt back in the chamber. The Piston system keeps the chamber of your gun "cleaner" and there are many debates on what "cleaner" is and how important "cleaner" is depending on your cleaning/shooting regiment.
For me DI has always worked and it's what I like. There is a big piston fan base too as it is newer for the AR system and there have been plus/minus to both systems. Figure out what your intended use is and go from there. If you clean your guns every 1000rds, either system will be fine
