New Contest Starting Now! This Target Haunts Me
Tell us about the one that got away, the flier that ruined your group, the zero that drifted, the shot you still see when you close your eyes. Winner will receive a free scope!
I am wrapping up my first AR build and I'm getting ready to mount the barrel. My question: Should I use anything to treat the threads, Loctite or never seize? I have seen both used. Recommendations? Pros/Cons of using one or the other?
I never had, but that does not mean you shouldn't; I just don't know.
I've mounted ar barrels w/ high temp anti sieze and high temp wheel bearing grease and never had any issues pulling them back apart. I only applied it to the threads.
Edit to clarify: I’m talking about castle nut to upper threads. I’ve never mounted ar barrel extensions to barrels; always bought barrels w/ extension already installed.
