i have asked this before here. gotten the input-oh that is not cool or workable and people at the range will not think you are tacticool. ok fine. i am leaving my ar rigged with the carry handle irons, period. does any one have any input into which of the carry handle scopes/mounts might work best? not the 3-4C colts. the cheap shit bsa,nc star, barsaka rigs. yes,i do know these companies are not schmidts or zeiss. just want to know if anyone has any experience with which of the cheap products out there might be functional out to 100-200. i do not consider my AR a prec rig. it's a runaway and hide/get out of dodge fast carbine only.
a cheap scope that works with the carry would just add less stress to oldish eyes and give me more love than he 2-3 moa i manage to do with irons. thanks for any replies to the above questions.

I had a 4x Leapers scope mounted to their carry handle mount when I first got my AR with the fixed carry handle. I ended up swapping the upper receiver for a flat top and then putting an EOTECH 512 on it in the end. Now I will be faced with the decision again because I'm building another AR using that same upper. The Leapers scope mount will attach nicely in the handle and stay put, your choice in optics at that point will be wide open. Using that mount allows you to use the irons by looking though the bottom of it. The mount only accepts 1" scopes. I have a different mount as well that is just a picatinny rail. I actually prefer the leaper/UTG only because it was a one piece design which I found meant more sturdy. I could just never get used looking at the irons through the "tunnel"and having to adjust the cheek everytime I wanted to do so.

I've got some shots of different configs this particular rifle has gone through in time. May give you some other ideas. I'm thinking of a Millet DMS or a Burris TAC 30 for this build. Size was a consideration in going with the fixed 4X Leaper scope. It's a compact scope that never loss zero but it is now on a 22LR of mine.

I have never seem any of the Carry Handle Only mounts worth a dam, a lot of parts on M16/AR15 are manufactured to exacting tolerances, the carry handle is NOT one of them, my advice is to change out the upper to a A3 flat top or learn to use the Iron Sights.
