NOPE!

You will need a rifle buffer tube, A2 spacer, rifle buffer and rifle spring to switch to an A2 stock.

If you haven't already bought or don't already have any of those parts, you can buy a COMPLETE A2 buttstock assembly for around $60 or less that includes everything you'll need (with the exception of the carbine spanner wrench to remove the castle nut and carbine receiver extension).

Re: ar stocks

where can i find one for around 60, there is one in my stag arms magazine for around 85,so if i find one for cheaper that would be great

MidwayUSA, at least a month or so ago, had a complete A2 buttstock kit (buffer tube, spacer, spring, buffer and stock body) for $55 because I ordered one on one of my orders for a buddy of mine. I don't recall the mfg, but if you go to their site, under gunsmithing, parts for AR-15s, and then buttstocks, I am sure it will come up.

I don't know if Midway has any discount codes for as cheap as $50 orders (sometimes they do), but I know they have a $10 off $100 right now depending on what all you need to order which might save you a little more.
