I've read a lot about parts incompatibility with AR10 parts. I don't doubt is at all ,but I'm curious what type of issues like this do you guys run into when building one, feeding, chambers, fire control?
While I’ve heard about issues “in general” , my impression after two AR10 builds, both of which I bought random parts for trying to keep them ultra light, is that most reputable manufacturers have gotten things together as far as the AR10 goes these days and parts incompatibility is not the issue it was 10 to 15 years ago. I used 2A Arms Xanthos receivers for both builds and the rest of the parts were all over the map. I had no issues.
Im not sure about anymore but back when i did a dpms pattern ar10 there was a high and low rail. The bigger issue for me was the way it chewed up brass. I ran a JP barrel and parts so the gas was adjusted good but i would still get a “vampire” bite on the case necks from the barrel extension. Almost like the ejector spring was to strong. Same as hing with an Aero 6.5CM upper that i had. Both shot well they were just hard on the brass. I also recall hitting pressure signs sooner than anticipated.
