Rifle Scopes AR10 SASS Scope Mount.

I am in the process of adding a scope to my .308 AR10.
My question to the forum is:
Will a Nightforce 5.5X22-56 fit the rail system with a
Armalite one piece scope mount, and still have clearance?
Or am I limited to a 5.5X22-50 Scope? I am looking at
both scopes. But I would go with the -56 if it has the
height on the front end of the scope.
Any of you fellas have a 56 mounted on a AR10 out there?
I appreciate your help! I enjoy reading this forum, alot
of good knowledge and free advice.

You aren't using a 56mm without a riser base.

Thanks for the input. I figured that a 50mm was my limit.
I won't be shooting "the last 15 minutes of dusk" anyway.
By then I should be cleaning the AR10 and having a beer!
(And wondering why the gun shot better than me!)

Did the mount come with the rifle or have you already bought it? If not, my mount (see sig) works perfectly with 56mm scopes.

56mm obj is gonna look very clumsy...

After I did some math, I will need a minimum height of at least
1.25. Since half the diameter of a 56mm is 1.10". So the next
size base in Nightforce is 1.375. If I go 56mm I don't want to
get so high I loose 30 clicks in adjustment or more. I tend to agree on the clumsy idea too..... I never saw a clumsy rifle,
I did see a clumsy shotgun time. A friend of mine fell down
with a single shot once... Plugged the barrel with mud..thought
he had all of it out. BOOM.... banana peeled the barrel back
8 inches... Thats what kids do in the woods and survive to tell
the story. I did tell him to pull a rag thru it, but he did't
listen.

Both the AAD and NF mounts are 20moa. You'll still have MORE than enough, even with a level mount, to run out past the effective range of your AR10.

The NF 1.375 <span style="font-style: italic">might</span> be pushing it on the 56mm obj. I'd have to get an actual measurement of the bell housing to say for sure though.

People like La Rue, BobRo, and American Defense. If you are spending over $1200 on a scope, spend at least $180 on the mount.

Well I ordered a 5.5 X 22 X 50 NP R1 recticle. I probably
would"nt gain anymore from 6mm more glass. I think if its
that dark out during the day the wind will be to much to
have much of a good target day. Looking forward to getting
it mounted and lined up. Thanks all for your input it helped.
