ar10 stock question

Re: ar10 stock question

Answer: stock is (usually) easily utilized on both, but I would recommend a heavy buffer(by slash) for an AR10 as they are clearly different rounds and a heavy buffer will make a BIG difference.

Re: ar10 stock question

Well...yes and no.

With a few exceptions, AR-15 stocks will work with AR-10/LR-308 type rifles. That includes the receiver extensions/buffer tubes. The exception would be stocks like the Magpul PRS (or other stocks with adjustable cheek risers) where the AR-15 version will NOT work on the .308 rifles because the cheek riser interferes with the operation of the longer charging handle.

Now, as for buffer springs and buffers...NO! The .308 ARs use specific buffers that are NOT compatible with the AR-15 buffers. Get a Slash buffer and you can run ANY AR-15 carbine buffer tube and stock without any troubles.

Re: ar10 stock question

armalite ar10's have a 9/16" longer than ar15 buffer tube, a 5.4 oz buffer instead of 3.4oz and longer buffer spring,

i just put a m4 style stock on my ar10, i tried to go the cheap way with an ar15 stock and found out the buffer tube is 9/16" longer on the 10 so i had to buy a ar10 stock set

DO NOT, REPEAT...DO NOT...buy the proprietary Armalite buffer tube and buffer! You can buy a Slash buffer that will allow you to run ANY AR-15 collapsible stock on any .308 AR platform rifle without the BS hassle! See here:
