Rifle Scopes ARD DIY

Re: ARD DIY

Anyone know where to locate a wider comb? Something like what is shown below. I've only experienced the tightly spaced comb and light transmission is depleted signifigantly in low light situation's.

This wider spaced comb would allow more light transmission and suit the same purpose.

Thanks,
MS

Re: ARD DIY

Larger the honeycomb, the longer they need to be to achieve the same result.

The materials can be had at any place that sells composite material.

You just need to order the appropriate cell size and thickness.

Remember, it needs to be exactly perpendicular to the light path.
If it is installed crooked, there will be a masive amount of shadow visible in the optic.

Re: ARD DIY

Just recieved the piece that I ordered on Saturday. Prompt delivery.

I do have a problem with it though, and I'm going to call Nick here in a minute and get it resolved, I'm sure it was just an honest mistake.

I ordered an 8" x 8" piece, paying for 64 square inches, and expecting an actual square piece of this material.

What I recieved was a circle 7.75" in diameter, which is just a cunt hair over 47 square inches of material.

Re: ARD DIY

I finally got around to ordering some of this. I was thinking about cutting down my sunshdae to about .6 or .7 seeing how the grid material is 1/2 inch thick. This way I can elimnate the use of a lense cover seeing how my Butler Creek caps broke after 3 months. I was also thinking of using some sort of epoxy resing to hold the grid within the chopped down sunshade. As anyone done this or have any thoughts on it?
