My current rifle's receiver is drilled for the 8-40 Nightforce rail. If I order a Seekins 8-40, will I be able to screw it on? Is the spacing on 8-40 rails standard?

Yes they are both for a 700SA. I was curious because 700s do not come with 8/40 and are normally opened up by smiths. Therefore I thought there might be slight differences between the different manufactures. I figured smiths just used the rail to place the holes (?).

They will be the same. Many smiths use the 8/40 due to inconsistencies in the factory whole spacing, and you have stronger hardware.
The holes have not moved from the spot that Remington drill and tapped them at for 6-48. Your smith just made them a little bigger and tapped them for the 8-40. Any 700 SA base should work as long as you can get the #8 screw through the hole.
