Rifle Scopes Are these binoculars adequate?

I recently received a pair of Nikon Action 8x40 binoculars as a birthday gift. Are these a decent pair to be used with precision shooting?

The main question in my mind is just what are you going to use them for? I have 3 pairs of binoculars and a spotting scope. Neither does the job of any of the other. Those are nice glasses. For what they were designed for they are very good glass. If you're talking about seeing bullet holes in targets at 1000 yards, no. There aren't very many scopes or binoculars that can do that, reguardless of price. For checking the area and seeing what's out there, yes they will do fine.

Get in the woods and use them. Buy a book on birds and try getting close to the birds in your AO. Learn how to use what you have and you'll know what you need for another job.
