I'm pretty sure around here, if someone goes to grab your holstered weapon you are justified in the use of deadly force immediately as they obviously mean to kill you if they can.
It also sounds like a great way to get the police to shoot you as you flee having just stolen a gun.
My first reaction would be to stick a knife in their neck as deep as possible, while grabbing their grabbing hand with the other.
It's why I keep a knife on the opposite side from my gun.

If you OC always carry with retention... and never carry further back than 3:00
If someone goes for your gun.... grab the muzzle end and pull outwards and up.... this cants the grip in towards the body making. It damn near impossible to pull the gun out.
I also carry my pocket knife on my non dominant Side so I can retain the control over my sidearm/ attacker.... yet still have access to a tool to create distance

I hope this goes viral, maybe it will motivate all the dumbass MF's to stop using cheap uncle mikes, one size fits all holster that's barely attached to their trousers.
I use a Serpa Lvl.2 for OWB --the Lvl.3 just has to much to fuck with. But I can draw normally, button is where the trigger guard is, so when I draw my finger is naturally right outside the trigger guard, ready to go. To disarm me you'd have to reach down, grab it and disengage the lock. By that time you'll be worrying about the elbow to the face followed up with some severe violence of action, likely a broken arm.
And if the dumbass did succeeds? Guess he didn't imagine I'd have more than one, but if I carry IWB or OWB, concealed or not, I have that 340PD at all times regardless. Pretty sure the cops wouldn't mind if I stopped someone from doing that either. I mean, what would they do under similar circumstances!
These dumbass anti's live in some fantasy world, I tell 'ya, but I doubt there'll be many, if any, that actually follow through. Come on. Politics aside, would you? Would you try to grab someone's shit? I carry it like I own it and would probably be more likely to be confused with a cop or agent of some kind vs. anything else, so would you risk grabbing a cop or some agent's pistol? Or even a law abiding citizen? I wouldn't.

But at some point we're probably all gonna be forced to migrate to a handful of states to make stand because divided we'll fall.

There are probably eventually going to be some dumb asses that fall for it & try to pull some real stunts and find out that just because we are non-violent, law abiding, peace loving citizens, that doesn't mean we won't show you what happens when you cross the line into violent life threatening criminal.
I don't think their plan to have somebody trying to steal a gun and getting shot will turn out in public opinion the way they hope it will.

Well, here's one of each. If I was gonna guess I'd lean towards the Mini 14, but the side of the stalk/forearm has a inlet like for your finger tips. I don't know off the top of my head either having that in any year/model.
And in regards to ANYONE "trying" to snag a weapon from a legal carrier, ya, just don't. Gawd damn. That's exactly how you avoid the tax man.
I think it might be a mag fed SKS although the magazine curve doesn't look right.
I hope that if an individual is ever dumb enough to even try something so stupid is prepared to have the worst and possibly the last day of their life...

I gave my serpas away after trying the safariland. Thumb makes more sense than index finger pressure.
There was a proven issue with some of the index fingered ones that the way they were setup, left people without a lot of practice / training in danger of a sympathetic trigger pull as the gun came off the holster and the still had pressure on their index finger from the release button.
If I was open carrying for some reason, I'd probably go with one of the Safariland combo Level II / Level III retention holsters. I have one of those and in level 3 you best know what you are doing or you will be at it all day till you start cutting it open, the level 2 is still pretty good and you have to know where the thumb release is on the side.
I do believe you're right! I thought it looked a bit SKS-ish, just hadn't seen one with the side finger grooves.
Having had hands-on with the SVT-40, I agree...
