I know there is probably a ton of info on this scope, but im having a hard time finding what I want to know. Im wondering how the glass is on these scopes, and what it is comparable to? Gen I vipers? Some say gen II? The only thing I really have for a reference is my Viper PST 6-24. Thanks guys!

I've always felt that the glass in the several Gen 1 4.5-27x50 Ares BTRs I have was better than that of the two Gen 1 Vortex Viper PSTs I had. Not a huge difference, but still no doubt in my mind at least. I also feel that the Athlon Midas TAC 6-24x50 has glass that's an improvement over the Gen 1 Ares BTR, so while I've yet to buy a Gen 2 Ares BTR, I'm confident that its glass will be a step up from the Gen 1 Ares BTR.
For me personally I say (the glass) it is about equivalent to pst genII. Eyebox on the btr genI is a little more finnicky than the pst genII in my opinion. Tracking has been spot on with the btr genI since I got it last march or april.
My only real gripe with the scope is the turret feel and ease of turning, I did remove the o-ring which made the turrets clicks more noticeable but also made them turn easier.

Thanks guys. The local shop is willing to give me a good deal on the Ares, and Ive been trying to decide mostly between the Ares and the Gen II viper, but at the price point ill pry be ending up with the Ares. Just wanted to make sure I wasnt missing anything to significant.
