Just got my Super SASS from the wholesaler today. This is the A10 model for Pmags. For factory made this not a bad gun. Fit and finnish are very good. Bore scoped the chamber and muzzle these looked good. It will be a bit before it is scoped but so far it looks GTG. The Maten the finnish is better. If I back out the little tightener on the new Maten than the fit is no better than the Armalite. This did surprise me. Good work Armalite.

Been thinking about getting into AR10/SASSrs to relive my G3A3 days but just never did. The Armalite looks nice, price isn't bad, I just don't have a slot for it right now as my go-to bolt gun is 308 and my SPR is a Mk12Mod1 in 5.56 so a semi auto 308 wouldn't have a hole to fit unless I moved back into 300WM territory on the bolt gun.

Sigh.

Congrats on the new rifle, Kevin! Glad you are happy with it.

I have always been consistently pleased with the quality, attention to detail and overall value of every Armalite I've owned over the years...I can only hope that tradition continues under the new SAC ownership. As for the finish...I know what you mean. Every one I've had has had a pretty "utilitarian" finish to it. Rather dull...functional...well done...but nothing to write home about.

I have had mine for 6 years now. I have many .308s that include bolt guns and battle rifles, but my SASS is used more than the others combined. She has a NF NXS 3.5-15x50 ZS and a Noveske barrel, but other than that she is pretty much stock with original components. Also, I really like the Old Armalite Gen II mags. Rock solid and tough. No reason for Armalite to switch other than to be like everyone else.

Diddo on the Gen 2 Mags. I got 20rd and 25rd ones and ALL Worked Flawlessly! The Pmags are great but the Flowers are still Plastic it gets chewed up pretty bad in .308 ARs.
