Night Vision ARMASIGHT by FLIR XLR-IR85 question.

I'm sure it's my fault and I'm doing something wrong.

Why does my Armasight CO-Mini act crazy when I turn the light on? When I move the light 3' or more away from the nightvision it works great. Anything closer than 3' it looks to have some inference in the picture. I don't even need to have the light pointed in the direction I'm looking at, just when I get close, it gets real foggy looking.

I've played with the dial on the back but nothing ever changes.

Any ideas??

Early morning where I am so I might not be understanding your question - when you write light do you mean a white light or the illuminator?
