I have one somewhere - I'll look ... The heavy lines that support the actual cross-hairs are used to bracket a military-type silhouette ( read between the lines) , when the power-ring is locked into the elevation cam , in the biggest notch .The combined dials are rotated until the silhouette is the same height as the heavy line , which tilts the scope accordingly . The fine cross-hairs are then used . The fine dots - if yours has them - are used for leading the target . Once the target is ranged , the rings can be separated , if you want to change magnification . Turning the cam will change the elevation . Hope this helps ...
