Rifle Scopes ASLI Degree indicator incorrect due to base cant

Re: ASLI Degree indicator incorrect due to base cant

20 MOA base is 1/3rd of 1 degree. I'm not an expert by any means. But just by thinking about the angles I don't see how it's going to matter. Your Line of sight isn't parallel to the bore or the scope base.

After playing with JBM it's showing .4 mils at 1000 yards for 1 degree difference (45 vs 46). Just a smidge over .1 mils for 1/3 of an angle or 3.6 inches at 1000 yards. Not enough I'd worry about it.

Again just my understanding of how it works. I don't have any actual experience at 1000 yards.

I only think that would be an issue if the angle cosine indicator were attached to the rifle and not the base or scope. Since it is attached to the scope then it truly indicates the angle of the scope relative to the target. The rifle still shoots to whatever dope it is set to.
