Re: At last a home of my own...

Sleeping bags stored up top. Damn skippy it's climate controlled, that was actually my prime motivator for fixing it up. In the first 6 months I lived in this house all my shit stored in the barn was starting to rust up no matter how much I coated it. Had to throw away two $50 wilson seaters cause they were rusted beyond repair. It's fully insulated (including foam board under the floor) and has a plug-in thermostat controlling the space heater in the winter and the AC/dehumidifier in the winter. Works great, too. Very comfy.

Thanks for posting some pictures. I want to duplicate some more of the items you have and it helps to see some of them in a picture.

I enjoyed visiting you and the shop the other night. Looks like you spruced it up a litte more and the stepping stones sure help. Very nice setup Ratbert.

I have a spare room in the house and I am dedicating it to guns and reloading. The gf now calls it the "bullet room." I need to start ordering equipment now. Let's go shooting some time now the weather is nice.

A bit. I've got another one of those carts in the garage with a sinclair's cleaning cradle bolted to the top as a cleaning cart. Good stuff for the money.

That was a big pile of shavings under the ol' drill press. Works great though. Have 1 size hole for my LnL bushing'd dies and another for my standard press dies.

Re: At last a home of my own...

That's a saweeeeeeet man cave. I definately would prefer a set up like that seperate from my house. (paranoid about my powder in the garage)

Me Likeeeee!

I'm planning on a 10x20' shed in my garden, thus freeing up my garage for the car!

I'm shamelessly robbing some of your ideas, particularly the die holder.

I hear you on the rust issue, we've got a product here called "Really Usefull Box" I have to store my dies in these and put silica gel in there!

Congrats on your Man Cave, it's an inspiration to us all!

Re: At last a home of my own...

Just realized I put the wrong dimensions in earlier. It's actually 10x16, not 12x16.

The die holder is terrific. I made a couple of smaller free-standing versions first and they worked ok but the shelf really is much better and more space efficient than having something standing on your workbench. Take the time to measure/mark out where each hole is going to go first and it really gets tossed out on the drill press pretty quick. Just remember to leave space for the brackets when you mark out your holes.

Originally I was planning on bending the L brackets down 10*-15* to give me a better view of the back row but I got impatient and just threw it up for the time being and it works so well I probably won't ever get around to doing that.

Re: At last a home of my own...

That is sweet!!! I am going to convince the wife to let me make one. Right now everything is in storage... But when the time comes, I will use your man cave as a example of how I want mine to look.

Re: At last a home of my own...

Ratbert,

Nice shed! Gotta love having climate controlled room to reload in. I used to reload out in my garage here in MN. We get enough humidity here to rust stuff up pretty good too. We are lucky in that it's not always hot here in the summer to make rust happen.

Anyhow, my second kid moved out for college and I took her room over. Hauling stuff out and back in just wasn't cutting it. And trying to reload when it's -10 in the garage really limited my "enthusiasm" for doing that. Fortunately, we have good long Falls and Springs so I was able to bulk load when I wanted to.

All in all though, I'm just a whole lot happier loading inside, downstairs. A/C, heat in the winter, local craft brew.....

Edit:

I noticed your pinup girl has four R1820's. My kinda gal. Although a V1650 is still pretty damn hot!~
