Looking at a 6BR barrel for the AT-x, just want to make sure I get this right. Do the Gray Ops AW 6BR mags work reliably in the AT-x? I do read there's a mag block kit(HRD?) but spotty reviews? Any other options for this rifle? Aside from bending lips and pushings rounds forward, etc.

Let's please keep it to the BR.

Tks

I have both Gray Ops BR mags and HRD kits and can confirm both option run great in my ATX with a Dasher. I’d probably trust the Gray Ops more with a shorter body or OAL BR.

I use an HRD kit with 6BRA and they like to nose dive which can be a pain to clear in a hurry. Have you guys had any failures with the gray Ops?

I'm also curious if anyone has used the MDT DSSF mags in an ATX?

First time out last week with the GO mags. I had to adjust the catch on the magazines to raise the mag up as the last 5 in the mag would have bolt overs. Very slow bolt closure occasionally caused a misfeed.

I have one aw mag and one ax mag that run 98-99%. They have hrd kits and have required a lot of tuning to get them this reliable. This is on an atx 6br. I also use both these mags on a solus 6br, with same reliability.

I had nothing but feeding issues in my AT-X with 6BR from AW magazines with and without HRD spacers. Lapua SRP brass with Hornady 108 ELDM.

Rounds 1-5 were generally not so bad, but had to be careful as the round would pop up out of the lips and float around a bit before finding the feed ramp.

Rounds 6-8 generally got worse. Bolt overrides were common with reduced spring tension, rounds sometimes popped up and semi ejected. Had to let it pop, then push it forward carefully.

Rounds 9-10 were often catastrophic... One time, even had a round somehow flip AROUND AND END UP IN THE ACTION BACKWARDS!!! :ROFLMAO: A typical stoppage from the last two would be that they would nosedive and end up vertical.

TLDR: That barrel got re-cut to become a 6GT. The added case length & 109LRHT / 110 ATIP' = Zero feeding issues with standard AW mags.
The feeding problem went away with binning the 6BR.
