i submitted my paper work and check for a suppressor a few weeks ago, I was just curious how long it takes for them to cash the $200 check.. i just dont want to be suprised if it ends up being months and i go to use my debit card and I get denied. i know there isnt a exact timeline, im just wondering what the typical timeframe was..

Think mine was a couple weeks from being sent, most report a week or two from being sent. The a long wait.

My last 4 applications sent in November 2011 took about 12-14 days to cash.

If you are checking your bank statements to see if the check cleared, it may not show up associated with your check number. The last few of mine were entered in as an electronic type withdrawal. I don't remember the exact wording, but it was not attached to an actual check number. Caused some heart palpatations until I figured it out.

My experience has been within couple weeks too. Of course, cashing the check means nothing - it just means your packet made it to Atlanta prior to being trasnferred to West Virginia to go into the "Pending" stage.

I haven't called to check but I think pending usually happens at minimum one month after they cash your check.. maybe longer. Only true way is to call them up and ask. I'm trying to forget about it.

I sent a personal check in on 19 December and it cleared on 23 December. It did clear as an electronic payment, not a paper check.

All of the last 7-8 checks I have sent have been deposited electronically in about a week. Thanks PG

Your check will be cashed and funds distributed to potential voters LONG before you get your Form 4 back. Usually within one business week of arriving at ATF office in Atlanta.
Any other business that would deposit your check 6 to 12 months before producing goods or services might come under the scrutiny of the Federal Trade Commission if not elements of the Justice Dept., both Federal and State.
Jonathan Arthur Ciener comes to mind as a primary example.

mine usually clear within 5-10 business days. That's from an electronic report though, so it probably is probably a few days less then that in reality.

from the delivered date shown on the UPS tracing 3-5 days for me. its kind of nice to see pretty consistent times across all these answers.
