Have a look at NFATracker.com ATF Form 1 and Form 4 Tracking website and consider entering your info. Check it a couple times a day. It's a great way to make a long time feel like a long time.
wait time is about 9 months now. You won't hear from the ATF, you will just randomly get a call from your dealer saying to come pick up your stuff if all goes well!
That's about what I expected.
I just noticed everyone has a "pending" date in the form 4 wait thread. Figured maybe I should have a letter coming....to much to ask I guess.

When you go to pending... That's about all you get. There are a set number of reviewers per region. The best course of action is to call the Martinsburg NFA branch at about 3-4 months after your check is cashed....and then follow up at the 8-9 month mark. Just tell the person that answers the phone that you would like to check the status of a form 4. They will ask for your last name and (possibly) serial of the item.
I will note that you need to be calm and professional when speaking to them.....it makes things go much easier for you as they have hundreds of calls a day asking the same questions.

I think they cashed my check Aug 10th so Ill give them a call in a month or two and see what happens.

No rush on my end Ill just wait for my dealer to contact me.

Folks, it's time to start writing your reps and voicing that this isn't acceptable.
I agree 100%! I am paying for this, I am not asking for a freebie. I would like to contract this with a max 90 day turnaround time. There is approx. 40k form 4's yrly and with the Form 3's it ain't that big of a deal in this day and time. When my 2 are 120 days pending I plan on writing my Representative and both Senators as this is totally unacceptable. You are paying for a service and in return are getting pathetically slow service.
