I was getting ready to buy a SWFA 10x but now I see Athlon has put the Midas BTR on sale. It has been out for awhile but I can’t find any review on it. Has anyone used it? How does it compare to the SWFA

I have one in my my Ruger Precision. Glass is good, I would say it’s brighter to my eye then the swfa. I have a 10x and have had a 3-15. As far as turrets go the swfa turrets are better. The Midas turret are not bad but the tension on them is very light. The illumination on the athlon is crisp with no bleeding. I have not had the Athlon out in the range yet to test tracking. Swfa is kinda know to be rock solid for tracking and you can get some zero stop shims for it as well.
If I had the choice I would save a little and go with the swfa 3-15. Hard scope to bet for the money.

The Midas BTR is SFP so the subtensions are only correct at one magnification.

For all that is right and good, lol, save up and get a Midas TAC, it's a better scope than the SWFA in a few ways and way better than the regular Midas.

I'm not enthused with the reticle in my TAC 4-16 but it's still a decent reticle, the rest of the scope is quite impressive.
