Hello Gentlemen,

I will soon be traveling to Atlanta, GA for work. I will be there until the end of the year and hope to get some range time. My local range runs out to 600 yards and I was hoping to find something similar. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,
Splean

Re: Atlanta Ranges?

It’s been several years since my time in Atlanta, http://www.gunsitehills.com/ is about 1 hr drive from Atlanta. It’s a nice range and you don’t have to be a member like http://www.rbgc.org/. Their initiation fee is now $900!

There might be some other private ranges but it’s been a while since I lived there.

Re: Atlanta Ranges?

There's a nice club about 1 hour south of Atlanta. It only goes out to 200 meters but has 8-10 covered benches. It is very private and not many shooters. It's called Flint River Gun Club. If you would like to try it out let me know, and I'll be glad to take you as a guest. If you like it you can join it's very reasonable.

gunsite hills is a very nice range but it is more like two hours from atlanta. they have a website check it out.

Re: Atlanta Ranges?

1. Creekside is the only outdoor range within 1 hour of Atlanta central that goes out to 500, is public, and does not require a membership. Problem is the 500 range only opens on Wednesday evenings. Otherwise, it has only 100 yds on other days. Owner is a cranky ex-Marine. http://www.creeksidefiringrange.com/
2. Riverbend is ridiculously expensive as someone mentioned; their idea of giving members country club exclusivitiy. It goes out to 600.
3. http://www.southrivergunclub.com/ is another southeast of city, within 1 hour drive. 300 yd range available. Friendly folks.
4. Finally, Temple Georgia is 45 minutes west of Atlanta and has a 100yd range. http://www.advancedbullets.com/ Redneckish but works in a pinch.
5. Gunsite is nice and friendly, but is far from Atlanta. They do offer a beginner's course.

Despite Atlanta being a large city, there is a dearth of good mid/long distance outdoor ranges.

Re: Atlanta Ranges?

gunsite, 20 bucks and you shoot all day. only downside is its on the other side of Athens.
