Atlas bipod attachment

Re: Atlas bipod attachment

I rail is a rail is a rail when it comes to the accessory rails designed as bipod mounts for the Atlas. Accu-Shot makes their own, as does Seekins. As for the shortest/smallest rail section, it depends on whether or not you want to use the existing swivel studs/locations on your McM (or other stock) or not. Some have longer spacing than others. That Accu-Shot rails are 3.35" and 4" long with spacing of around 1 3/4 to 2 3/4 inches and 2 1/4 to 3 1/2 inches respectively. The Seekins system varies in length depending on which specific stock/model you get.

Good luck!

Re: Atlas bipod attachment

That's good info, and thanks for the links, ORD.

Not to hijack the original poster's thread, but the accu-shot rail will accept the original bipod stud as one of the attachment points. Can the same be done with the Seekins rail as well?

I like it that the accu-shot offers the ability to use both a Harris bipod with the stud or a rail mounted one.

Re: Atlas bipod attachment

I would not run the BT34 myself. It is not flat on the bottom so you would have to bed it, and the screw spacing does not match McMillans spacing. If it were me I would get the Seekins McMillan srs. It has a Harris type stud built into it already, it is flat on the bottom, and you could screw it to the rifle with a Harris stud if that floated your boat for some reason. I have installed three on my McMillans and they work great.

Re: Atlas bipod attachment

I only have 1 stud on my McMillans so spacing doesn't matter

Just don't see the point of having more rail than needed for an Atlas so want the shortest possible
