Atlas Bipod -- to pan or not to pan

I intend to get an Atlas bipod --- My remaining question is whether I go for the PRS model (with pan) or the CAL model (without Pan). I will likely spend most of my time shooting at a range with fixed position/targets, so I am leaning toward the CAL version. But any input would be appreciated

I was previously asking for recommendations on price and where to buy an Atlas, but I think I have that part figured out

Thanks

For transitioning or moving targets panning gets a plus. But if you don't ever plan on using that then why bother. But you know the old saying, Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it. I run mine tight as loose does not work for as me as Rrocketmandb mentioned. Mine do not loosen up during a long string of fire but I have read it is different for some. But any more people just like to complain about everything so I revert back to my experience with mine to believe it or not. Best thing would be to find someone and try both before you drop the coin if possible, good luck on your venture.

Ah we can pan if we want to, we can leave your friends behind
Cause your friends don't pan and if they don't pan
Well they're are no friends of mine
I say, we can go where we want to, a place where they will never find
And we can act like we come from out of this world
Leave the real one far behind,
And we can pan or not its all up to you lol

I went CAL after starting this thread a while back
