Hey everybody, I've been looking hard at the older atlas models as well as the ggdg xds2.

I've done a tremendous amount of online forum surfing and I've got a few questions about the two models.

First let me say, whatever bipod I go with will be supporting a brand new jp lrp07 in 308. I don't really mind weight that much and this gun is geared towards long range shooting.

I'll be using the bipod mostly for bench shooting and hunting hopefully out past 600 yds. I do like to shoot for groups often, and I've also got a manfrotto tripod for the tall grass and shooter range stuff.

Basically I've seen a lot of reviews on the atlas b10 model which is what I'll most likely go with due to price compared to their newer model at almost $300.

I have not seen many reviews for the xds2 though. The 45 degree position of the legs is a must, and I like the idea of cleats however I have not seen different feet available for the xds2. Also the idea of screw locks for leg length doesn't seem sturdy enough for a heavier gun.

For those off you who have shot with any of these, which seems more of a pain to deal with? Spinning legs or screwing in leg length and no interchangeable feet. Thanks.

I put a GG&G on my Maten build (.308) and really like it. I've shot bench and prone with it and think it's a great bipod. I've shot it on just three range trips so it's still pretty new. Shooting off a bench it wants to slide a bit if you load it so you have to put something down but unless you get spiked feet to dig into the wood, most bipods do the same thing. Adjusting height is easy and it holds position well. It feels super solid too.

I have a atlas and a gg&g xds, not xds2. I like both. Both are great. If I bought a xds2 first, I would have skipped atlas because it does everything a atlas does. Well, luckily I did not. I will say xds feel more solid and no movement when you load on the bipod. While atlas will give a little then stop. It is due to the xds (and xds2) has holes for pegs to go into while atlas uses the diff method for locking. Some will argue atlas can have one foot 45d in front and one 45d back. I never had to use that on my atlas.
