Auburn Fans

It’s still a little soon for me but in the end it’s like this: we should have taken the early field goal instead of going for it on 4th down, we had two turn overs, and the penalties were killing us. We still should have won but we didn’t. We didn’t look like a top 10 team. AU has a lot of work to do.

Since I was actually there I can you the heat was unreal and I go to every game. I will say all of the LSU injuries were defensive players but currently laying down to stop the clock is legal, but cowardly if they did it.

If LSU feels great after this win, good for them. It’s a shame none of them came to game there was literally no LSU fans this year except for the retired Motorhome drivers that travel to every game.

I will give LSU this though.... I saw a drone cooler an LSU fan had. It was the coolest football toy I have ever seen.

And to all the LSU fans reading.... enjoy the win cause Bama and GA is gonna make us both cry.

I don’t Really see how LSU beating Auburn is that big of a shock. If anyone thought either team was going to walk away with it, they were delusional.
LSU is a good team. Auburn is a good team. One was ranked 7, the other 12. Not a huge stretch to think either team had a good shot.

I was watching the game with my father in law. When Gus decided to go for it on 4th and 1 in the first quarter (and got stuffed), I told my FIL that would likely come back to bite them. You take points on a team with a defense like LSU.

Auburn will be fine.

The SEC West is back, and I love it!

I agree. A fine assessment esp coming from a Bama fan :) . That call made by the coach, not the refs is what got us. You have go for the points in a game like this. LSU did and they won. In the end it does not really matter. We are really fussing over nothing. The top 4 are elite teams that quite frankly would beat Auburn and LSU handily. LSU got a test Oct 13

So V,

In your home movie above, did you have permission to substitute the turban for the helmet from "the big guy". How did you arrange that ?

vr

You're quite mistaken. They wouldn't let me ride in the HMMWV, so I had to hang onto the mirror mount and brace my feet on the door. Fuckin' scribe stole my seat, but it was a great upper body workout nonetheless.

Tiger is our official Mascot. The war eagle is a warcry with a history
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/War_Eagle

I have alwasy attributed it to the Eagle nest we had on campus for years and years and now have a raptor rehabilitation organization. Who knows.... It sure is cool at kick off...

Much better then Roooollll tide... thats for damn sure.

“War Eagle” is Auburn's battle cry — not a mascot or nickname. “War Eagle” has become a way for the Auburn Family to greet and identify with each other all over the world. Anywhere you're wearing something with an Auburn logo on it, chances are you'll hear a friendly “War Eagle!”

The most popular story about the battle cry dates back to the first time Auburn met Georgia on the football field in 1892 and centers on a spectator who was a veteran of the Civil War. In the stands with him that day was an eagle the old soldier had found on a battlefield during the war. He had kept it as a pet for almost 30 years.
According to witnesses, the eagle suddenly broke free and began majestically circling the playing field. As the eagle soared, Auburn began a steady march toward the Georgia end zone for a thrilling victory. Elated at their team's play and taking the bird's presence as an omen of success, Auburn students and fans began to yell “War Eagle” to spur on their team. At the game's end, the eagle took a sudden dive, crashed into the ground, and died.

But the War Eagle battle cry lived on to become a symbol of the proud Auburn spirit. Whenever Auburn people gather, the battle cry “Warrrrrrr Eagle!” is almost certain to be heard. It has been a part of Auburn's spirit for more than 100 years.
War Eagle Legend 2
The toughest player on the Carlisle Indian team in 1914 was named Bald Eagle. In an effort to tire him out, Auburn began to run play after play straight at him. Without huddling, the quarterback would simply yell out, “Bald Eagle” and the Tigers would attack. Spectators mistook “Bald Eagle” for “War Eagle” and began shouting it every time the Tigers came to the line. When Lucy Hairston scored the game-winning touchdown for Auburn, he supposedly yelled “War Eagle,” and a new Auburn tradition was born.

War Eagle Legend 3
During a Langdon Hall pep rally in the undefeated season of 1913, the head cheerleader said, "If we are going to win this game, we are going to have to go out there and fight, because this means war." At that moment an eagle emblem fell off a student’s military hat. Asked what it was, he reportedly shouted, "It's a War Eagle." The next day it became the favorite student cheer when Auburn beat Georgia, 21-7, to win the SIAA championship.

War Eagle Legend 4
Some say that Auburn fans adopted the "War Eagle" phrase because of its connection with Saxon warriors who used the yell as their battle cry. When buzzards would circle the battlefields, settling among the dead, the Saxons began calling them "War Eagles."

I know you must sleep better at night knowing the the Gus Bus is gonna be parked at Auburn. He is "the coach of their future".

I hold no ill will towards Auburn or their fans, but Alabama will win. In fact, I want Auburn to win every single game they play.....except for that one game after Thanksgiving every year. The final score may be close (odds are against this) or it may be a blow out, either way Bama will come out the victor this year. I would be surprised if Bama covers the spread (24 points) just because of the rivalry. I’d expect a comfortable 17 point or 20 point margin. 24 seems a bit optimistic to me.

Both teams will be amped up and will come out strong in Q1. The second half will likely be one sided.

After last night most of Au fans are moving on to basketball. We played Duke very close considering they are #1. We may have a team worth a dang this year. IF we cold forfeit to bama this year we would and save the embarrassment and injury. This year is all about them and i think the whole rest of the country is sick of it already. I have already purchased my Clemson shirt for the Championship game.

Sorry but this Iron Bowl thing is just a game this year. It's a safe bet that the two Champ contenders will be Clemson v. ND.

Auburn could get blanked in the SEC, and I'd still be proud as hell to know that they left every damned thing on the field with Alabama come The Bowl.

Be even more careful that you don’t develop into a person who can’t take some gentle ribbing.

We had to hear it last year. I take it in stride. With enough practice, you can too.

Oh, I do. I'd just like to think that we're a cut above even if we can't match your budget.

That tree is hard to see. Knowing I grew up and live here. Rolled that tree with my father in the 80s and then some selfish red neck ass hat kills it not considering what he was really doing.

Sure Bama won and we all expected it. I hope they enjoy today as we AU fans did last year.

Time to pull for Ga and then Clemson.

In retrospect, I really did think the Tigers would have the motivation and game plan that could stay with Bama yesterday. There is a lot of talent and pride on the AU sideline and I respect that. Couple times yesterday it actually appeared Gus was trying to "make losing fun".
In other SEC action, I thought LSU/TAMU score was basketball!
Was that the one Harvey poisoned or the one that one of your fans set on fire when it was loaded from that ridiculous toilet paper thing you guys do?

I'm a hardcore Auburn fan when it comes down to Bama and Auburn playing, but when they're not playing each other I want both teams to win their games. I love watching both teams play and do good, representing the state and having two great SEC teams. I don't understand the hatred that fans have for the other team, I understand the rivalry when we play each other but why not want your other home state team to represent your state as well.

Most of the hatred comes from people that were to sorry to play themselves. They don’t understand the respect that the players have for one another! Also, you got to remember, hate sales and promotes dollars!

Bama, believe this or not, is not the only fish in the sea. All the media loves and worships Notre Dame. I don't think it's too far out on a limb to say ND will be crowned National Champion this time around.
The "fix" is in. After all, the AP made BK Coach of the Year over Saban.
