My best friend is a cop. I support LEO and the rule of law. That said, I feel like that hallway video and most importantly the subsequent acquittal, has changed me.....
Heat of the moment. Why should anyone have to put their gun down in his own HOUSE especially before you know the situation is over? Why did he not put his gun down?
When this results in no charges/no firings etc it will just get worse. They know there are no consequences so shoot the person or dog first and ask questions later.
At the very least settlements should come out of the PD budget and retirement fund. Would give them some incentive to police their own and keep the f ups off the street. " Oh joe officer was criminally negligent now we don't get new cars every year, had to sell the apc's and our retirement account took a hit. ". Instead of "lol looks like the tax slaves will have to work harder this year"
If you ever have an issue, call him and not 911. That's my plan anyway.
No department will send anyone on a ridealong with a rotten egg like the hallway shooter.. if the department don’t trust them to do a ridealong they shouldn’t be employed. Perhaps bodycams should be 1 a requirement 2 aired publicly 3 on anytime the cop is on dutyI have trained with cops and done ride-alongs once or twice a year, with several different agencies since 2007. Always CCW .
I relate to cops well and for the most part understand their mindset. It's a tough job. I have been on the cop side of calls similar to this at motels. This includes breaking down a hotel door, chasing subjects through multiple back yards then finding them hiding in the dark and once a take down of a person with a hammer who was headed to murder someone.
In all those calls I have never witness such unnecessary and reckless escalation. If folks are compliant and not thugs, things deescalate pretty accordingly. Even if the suspects are thugs things are deescalated as quickly as reasonably possible.
I have seen poor training but this hallway video is just beyond blatant disregard for human life.
probably because hes hard at hearing

Yes you are right. No one should be able to talk to an American on American soil like that. This was the guy playing “simon says” with the hall video suspects. I would argue that leadership, this agency’s culture & policies actually were the key factors here. sgt. Langley had is team so ramped up and seemed to have confused team member that I think the cop who pulled the trigger might have been the wrong person on trial......

Yes you are right. Perhaps we could push them beyond the border, way into foreign territory? Or cage them up and only bring them out when antifa shows up?Not our border, the troops down there dont need shit heads on thier team.
Don't need to mess up what the professionals are doing.
