My kids liked the show on tv and after seeing a few i really started liking it. I own all of them now. This looks like a way different twist though.

I think you are confusing "Avatar" with "Avatar: The Last Airbender" tv show, Not the same. There is a "Avatar: The Last Airbender" movie but it's called "The Last Airbender" and will be out 2 July 2010.

I think you are confusing "Avatar" with "Avatar: The Last Airbender" tv show, Not the same. There is a "Avatar: The Last Airbender" movie but it's called "The Last Airbender" and will be out 2 July 2010.

I enjoy SciFi but my family saw the ad last night on TV and in a vote, I lost 6 - 1. One daughter summed it up,"so a wounded warrior has a robot made for him and then falls in love with Tinkerbell on another planet, only to have to save her later when the Transformers attack. No Thanks."
It was a funny moment but I like J. Cameron and will see it anyway. The idea of creating an 'avatar' though seems very much like Joe Haldeman's "Forever Peace," as well as a few others.

I'm kind of interested in seeing this.
I went and saw "Where the wild things are" and came in expecting nothing. I've found out that if I walk into something with little to no expectations that even if it's bad I still end up pleasantly surprised that I leave at the least entertained.
I actually really liked Wtwtare though.

The amount of back and forth between real human actors in such a highly animated feature should make this film an experience of sorts I imagine.
After watching this you can upgrade me from kind of interested to definitely seeing.

I've got a bunch of friends who've toiled on that flick for years. The way it was made it pretty revolutionary and the visual effects naturally tightly woven into the filmaking process. Typically the majority of visual effects work is done in post production after the film's been shot, but in this case it was there from the start helping to drive a lot of the on set action. They used a very advanced realtime camera translator along with performance capture technology to plug CG right into the take.
Unfortunately, as visual effects becomes such an pivotal part of production, we are given less time and money to do more and more complicated work. On top of that, the things we can do are so limitless that it tends to give directors too much freedom causing them to be very wishy washy and in-decisive.
This is exactly the reason why I have worked on Thanksgiving Day the last few years and will in fact work tomorrow as well. I'm looking forward to starting my ammo business so I can have a life again
