I think I signed up for open but now thinking i might need to go prone for the first match. Any thoughts?

Is your dope and comfort level with your rifle solid?

If so I would do open, you can borrow whatever you need. My first match last year I did open.

I think I'm pretty good with dope as far as distance, still learning to judge and adjust for the wind properly.

You can decide later. If it's your first time I would reccomend prone. Its slower paced and more relaxed and you dont have to worry about transition between positions while under the clock.

If you're e the "FuCK it, Let's do it LiVE" type then go for open and let the cards fall where they may. It's all a learning experience either way.

Great match today, weather was great, camping was fun! I think @Throwinsparks had fun and did some prone and open. Wind was light 5-15 but switchy in the various valleys, draws, etc.

Everyone was super friendly and helpful. Great group of shooters! I had a blast and I'm hooked.

I feel I did pretty good for the first time but really need to work on different positions.
It was a beautiful day, not too cool in the morning and not too warm in the afternoon.
Cant wait for the next one, probably try camping out the night before to make it a little easier.

My squad had David, Alan, and Todd from NCPPRC, Bryce from San Jose, and a dude Phillip from SoCal who was driving all over CA for work and was able to shoot the match. Everyone was super friendly, helpful, and high accountability to safety and the rules which was awesome.

Very completive and good natured ball busting on every stage.

Looking forward to our March 2 day event, if you haven't signed up shoots are filling fast!
