AW Bolt knob

Re: AW Bolt knob

LOLOL!!!!! You guys are cracking me up.

Actually you're probably right too. I probably wont change it but i am curious about who would do the work.

I really don't use the ball that much. When I run the bolt I blade my hand and with the top of my extended index finger I push up on the bar to unlock the bolt then slowly curl my fingers and twist my wrist up to extract the bolt back. The plastic ball does nothing for me unless I grab the whole ball to run the bolt. I find the former method much easier.

I do recognize that this is a silly issue, but non the less I'm still curious about the know change. I'm also bored LOLOLOL!!!!!

Anyway, thanks again.

Fuck No!!! He could be an "Artist" in his own right, but who cares what his opinion is...the nose of the Mona Lisa is just fine, don't go changin' it.

Re: AW Bolt knob

An opinion is just like and A-hole everyone has one...

Its your gun and you need it set the way your like it...I have sold rifles for reasons I won't even mention here...I like to call it the principal of the matter.

Re: AW Bolt knob

I'm still laughing.

I'm not cutting anything, i thought it might be an easy screw off knob. If it's not something simple like that it stays.

Like I said, it's not a big deal. Ive had the rifle for a year now. I just thought it might be something as simple as screwing on or off and swaping out.

Again thanks

Re: AW Bolt knob

I know of at least one user who has replaced the AI knob, although I don't have any deeper details.

I was training with the AE yesterday and had several rapid fire stages. The best think I can say about it was I never once thought about the knob. It did what it was required to do.

It's your rifle and if you want to change up the knob, so be it.

I would just suggest you spend some time in deep meditation concerning the change. No system will be perfect for all users. However of all the AI's ergonomic quirks, I don't think the bolt handle comes close to the top of the list.

Re: AW Bolt knob

It can be done by any competent smith. That being said, I love my AW knob and you would have to pry it out of my cold, dead hands!!!

Re: AW Bolt knob

I am still trying to get used to it, but am I the only one? I feel like when I am doing doing seated dry fire and cycling the bolt quickly it feels like my wrist is cocked back toward my chest (palm facing my face) in order to grab the thing.

With an R700 and a big Badger knob it felt like the back of the hand stayed in plane with the outside edge of my forearm - much more comfortable. That all said that big Badger was just that - too big and screwed with my hand / finger position in prone.

I am not rushing off to cut anything, and I think the medium sized ball head is good, but I do wonder about the angle of the dangle.

Good luck
