Amazing photos.
Always good to get a glimpse of the real austerity our nation endured just 70 years ago. The vestiges of which were still amply present when I was a boy growing up in the early 60's. Only 20-30 years after the era depicted in the photos, folks were still thrifty, resourceful, gracious and mindful of the fleeting nature of "good times."
Yet another perspective to contemplate when inclined to complain about how rough life is today.
