I am having a 338 Lapua built and have the chance to get the AX Series stock. Should I go for it and get it? I realy like the looks of it but have not been able to hold it. Whats everyones opinion of it?

You've got one?

Re: AX Chasis

Its only about a $150 differance (I am guessing it depends on the options). I am calling tomorrow to find out for sure and get all the options.

Which brings up the question, what are your purposes intended with it? If it sits on a bench you will love it, if you are hunting and hiking with it, you may want something a little lighter, but it is still manageable for hunting. </div></div>

"Thumbhole"?

I think your confused...

Re: AX Chasis

Remau308, how did your friends get ahold of them? Did they buy the actual rifle? I didnt know the chassis was shipping yet, I held out for one as long as I could, but the build must go on lol and I went with a good ole mcmillan.

Re: AX Chasis

Dont know how, but Mike at USW is doing a build for me with the AX Chasis with folding stock (2.0) (costing around an extra $250). The $150 (he said it was closer to $100) I said in a post before was for the AX Chasis non-folding stock (1.5). I am excited, I cant wait. He said he is doing a couple other INFIDEL packages with the AX Chasis too.

Are you sure you are thinking of the "AX" and not the "AICS"

Sounds to me like you may be making the same mistake as the other guy.

Re: AX Chasis

Im not taking anything away from any of the Knight11B4's posts as there isnt any indication that the AX chassis is anything BUT a folding stock...it is simply named the AICS AX....myself and Im sure a few others would be interested in seeing a "non-folding" version just for clarification

Re: AX Chasis

I am sure there is a non-folding one. The only pic anyone ever sees is the on on AI's website probably due to it was the first desighned to compete for a Military contract of some sort but they decided to desighn a fixed (and turned the folding one into a option) for civilian sales. Just my opinion and guess.
