AX chassis mag question

Im planning on building a 7mm mag using stiller action and the AX chassis.

Was emailing EuroOptic and they brough to my attention the only mags they have available are .308, .300wsm, and .338.

Am i going to have to scrap my plans of 7mm? Or have to find a new stock? Or is there after market mags that are made that will fit a 7mm mag?

I think Brownells has AI 300 WM Mags in stock. It should not be a problem with the route you want to go.

The problem i am facing is i dont know if 7mm mags will fit in one of the magazines they sell for the AX chassis.

would 7mm fit in a 300WM magazine?

Sorry i see what you are getting at. Read through the whole AW/AE/AICS mag diffence thread on the bolt page.

So the 300WSM AICS magazine will fit in an AX chassis?

I think the AICS and AICS AX mags are different. AICS takes AICS mags and AICS AX takes AICS AX mags.

Not totally sure though.

I just got a AX chassis for the SA, my regular AICS mags still work in the AX chassis. The new AI AX mag that came with my chassis has a metal lip on the front of the mag.

Semmems, are you building a SA or a LA 7mm? I was under the impression that you were building a 7mm Win Mag.

The AX chassis will accept AICS as well as the AICS AX mags. The only difference is the front lip on the AX mags. That provides a slightly more solid lock up of the mag. Lock up is similar to an M14 mag. I've had no issues using AICS mags in the AX chassis. For your 7MM Rem Mag use 300 Win Mag mags.

I am using both 300 and 338 mags for a 284 win application. I THINK 338 & 300 mags only differ in the bend of the lips.

I have both the 300 and 338 mags in front of me. The main differences is the depth of the stiffening/locator ribs. They're deeper on the Win Mag and the feed lips are also about .350" longer. I would use the 300WM on the 7MM RM round. you'll be happier.
