I have two magazines, both AX mags. One came with the rifle, which I purchased new, the other was purchased new after I purchased the rifle. The one that came with the rifle has an issue with bolt over base malfunctions. No I don't have 11 rounds in it. It only happens with 9 or 10 loaded I believe. After the first two on a full mag, there doesn't seem to be any issues. The rounds are also held in the mag well enough that in order to make them slide forward or rearward you have to smack the mag pretty good into the heel of your hand or something to make em move. The mag that was bought after the rifle has noticeably less spring tension when loading ane no bolt over base issues but the rounds are so loosely held that they move forward and rearward very easily. Like even recoil is enough to make them move. I contacted AINA and have a rma number to send the one with the bolt over base issue back but before I do i figured I'd take them apart and see if they have any difference or maybe swap the spring and follower to the other mag and see if the issue persists. Oddly enough, this is what I found when I disassembled....
The weirdest part is the one with the shorter spring and less tension is the one with no bolt over base issues. So I ask those of you with AX rifles, what do your springs measure?
