It's simply amazing what a decent stock does for accuracy. Cleaned new SPS Varmint/.243 and fired a 3 shot group w/ factory Winchester 100gr, and 80gr loads, and my first groups were 1.2" with 100's and just under an inch with 80's. I ordered some Devcon, 95gr BT's, 87gr Bergers, and 75gr Speer HP's. I haven't skimmed the stock yet, but groups shrunk to .864" w/ 100's and .357 w/ 80's. I will be loading some Win brass with the 95's using IMR 4350, and playing with COAL this weekend. Anyone know what a good load is for .243? I'm used to my 6mmRem by Spencer, and it loves 4350. I don't do much LR big game hunting, and best is a 611yd groundhog, w/70gr Bergers. I believe the twist is 1/9.25, so it should stabilize the 95's right?
1 more question. Anyone know who will GAP camo my BC stock at a decent price?
