Hello SH members,

Wanted to give a heads up here. A contract for the Atlas Bipods came in today and as it follows one awarded late September we are stopping sales to civilians for Atlas bipods until further notice.

We will be fulfilling ALL Atlas orders that we have at close of business Friday, Oct. 21, 2011.

Our plan is to continue to fulfill monthly allotments for our dealers currently in that program. But we will not be adding any new or current dealers not on this monthly Atlas program, to this program.

We should be able to offer direct civilian sales late December 2011, if no additional contracts are awarded.

Please visit our DEALERS page for your Atlas bipod needs.

Thank you for your support, your participation in our success is appreciated.

edited to add;

This is our call. I drew the line on the wait time for the Atlas at 10 weeks, even without this contract we were getting close to failing on that obligation.

Re: B&T stops civilian sales of V8 Atlas Bipods.

Is this a contractual obligation that you cease civilian sales, or is it that you can't keep up with the demand of doing both?

Re: B&T stops civilian sales of V8 Atlas Bipods.

thanks guys, (there are some new products we'll be rolling out in the coming weeks and I hope you think they are awesome!).

Tripwire, good question, this is our call. I drew the line on the wait time for the Atlas at 10 weeks, even without this contract we were getting close to failing on that obligation.

Sounds like you might need to expand then, if this keeps up.

This economy could use more problems like yours......

Dang I just tried to order one today from mile high. They don't know when they will have them in stock

Re: B&T stops civilian sales of V8 Atlas Bipods.

Props to you, it takes integrity to make a call like this. Congrats on the success, and thanks for not selling out and contracting them to be manufactured overseas just to meet demand, like many others have done!

Re: B&T stops civilian sales of V8 Atlas Bipods.

Thanks for your continued commitment to all of our brave men and women in harm's way around the world!! Kasey...you and all the folks at B&T are the definition of "Class Act!!"

Re: B&T stops civilian sales of V8 Atlas Bipods.

Thanks guys, we could not have done it without your input and support.

StanwoodSpartan, LOL, I have no skill in making accurate time-line predictions. This is what I know, we have been blessed. We have been and continue to get RFQ's (Request for Quote) that seem to turn into PO's (Purchase Order) at a later date. There are several RFQ's currently out there that could drop as PO's at any time. Add SHOT to that mix makes "next to nil" sounds like something I might predict!

Good problem to have. I resisted buying an Atlas for several years and gave in a few months ago. It is obvious why you got a contract.....you have a fine and versatile product.

Re: B&T stops civilian sales of V8 Atlas Bipods.

Thanks again for the support.

I want to try and clarify our situation and civilian sales.

We will continue to ship bipods to our DEALERS that are in our Atlas monthly allotment program (that was one reason we started that program, to at least be able to establish a known quantity for our dealers). So civilians can still get Atlas bipods through our dealers in that program.

What has thrown us off our production plans are the purchase orders we are getting now that we quoted 6 months ago. And when we got two of them, back to back, that basically would result in doubling our back-log status, I felt we needed to idle back somewhere. Stopping our (B&T) direct sales to civilians seemed a logical call.
