New Contest Starting Now! This Target Haunts Me
Tell us about the one that got away, the flier that ruined your group, the zero that drifted, the shot you still see when you close your eyes. Winner will receive a free scope!
I have a box of .22 rounds that the lead noses got messed up during cycling and now the are useless. Whats the best way to get rid of them? Thinking of pulling them apart but don't want to put live primers in the garbage.
It happens once in a while with rimfire ammo. If you have a bolt action rifle or a revolver you can still fire them that way. Some may disagree but I've never had anything bad happen in years of firing this ammo. I also rotate the ammo around if there has been a misfire and you can see the pin mark on the rim. It will fire if struck in a different location.
I don't know about were you live but were I live you can take loaded ammo and drop it off in the hazardous wast section at the dump for free and they take care of disposal for you.
