I was necking down some 6.5x47L brass and while doing so i had 10 pieces out of 100 that wouldnt go into the shell holder. I crushed 4 more pieces so i am out 14 pieces of brass. Not a huge deal but this stuff is a buck a piece. Any ideas as to what i can do to get the brass to fit? it looks like the base of the brass just above the lip is to big. If i had a lathe i would turn them down but i dont. I am a little bummed about this but i will live!! Lee

Who is buried in Grant's tomb? lol

I had a problem with a Lee shell holder that would not always accept lapua brass that size. Actually it had a problem with the 308 too. They are the same size.

Put a micrometer on the base and see if the brass is out of spec. And for sure take the shell holder and clean and polish it well. Knock off any burrs or tooling marks. That is what fixed my problem.

the bad pieces of lapua brass are .010 bigger than the rest of the good batch. I also noticed yesterday that after 1 firing the primer pockets were a bit loose. WTF!!!! I thought Lapua was the shit!!! I have always had good luck with Lapua in the past. And like i said my only real bitch is that this brass is a buck a piece. Lee

Funny thing is I have a crap load of .308 lapua cases never had a problem. But I have a couple of 6.5 x47 lapua cases that did exactly what you said, would not fit in the shell holder. I would say out of 500 maybe 2 or 3..
