Badger FTE Muzzle Break...do they work?

Re: Badger FTE Muzzle Break...do they work?

I think there are better brakes out there for the 300win. Good all around brake I would go with a gentry brake. I have a buddy that has one of his brakes on a 300 winmag and it is great!!! One of the most quite brakes I have been around. It your going to do a lot of laying in the dirt I would go with an apa fat bastard. I love badger stuff but there are better brakes.

I was under the impression that they "clamped" on...if they require having the barrel turned down or profiled, I think I'm going to look into having the barrel threaded and put a thread-on brake on it. I have never had a brake on any of my bolt rifles, what are some good choices for a thread on brake?

It is definitely a thread on brake. There is a bolt used to cinch down when you have the brake in the correct position. This way you don't have to have your barrel threads timed to the brake threads.

I got one on my Remington 700 Sendero SF II 300 WM and its good to go. Felt recoil is way less than a .308 Win. I would suggest getting one.
