Will a Badger M2008 Short Action drop right in to a McMillan A-4 inletted for a Rem 700 SA or will I have to get the stock re-inletted? What about the Surgeon 591? Thanks in advance.

In no way would a Badger M2008 "drop" into a remington 700 inlet. your talking a round inlet for a square action. A surgeon will drop in with some easy fitting. The stock would need to be sent to a smith to fit a Badger action. There also might not be enough material to work with unless it was filled up again.
Don't own a surgeon, but I can tell you that a Badger M2008 is dramatically different than a R700 action. A badger needs to be inletted. Do a search on both actions. There are tons of posts on here already about them.
Call Marty at Badger Ord. and have a chat with him about it. Otherwise, a call to McMillan would explain how it works. I do believe it's possible with a little work. The stock blanks made for the M2008 have a bit higher rear tang. A standard 700 stock can be made to fit although not ideal.
