Badger M2013 hangfire/trigger issues

Got out on the range today and really had time to sit down behind my rifle. Ran into a couple issues and wondered if anyone knew what it might be before I start messing with stuff.

1) started off with a timney Calvin elite two stage. This trigger was having hang fires or no fires. You could see the pin move ever so slightly forward and then nothing. Once it warmed up a bit it would do the same thing but then drop the pin forward and have a hangfire.

2) I swapped it out with a trigger tech diamond I had on hand and the sear wouldn’t engage at all. Unless the safety was on the pin would just drop every time.

So what do you think? TT needs a custom sear engagement for a Badger and Timney needs the sear engagement adjusted? Just wanted to make sure it wasn’t an issue with the bolt or firing pin before I started messing around.

Wow, that sounds funky. Assuming Badger should work with those two triggers, I think I would start looking at the bolt and firing pin assembly. Did you buy the action new?

Yea it’s a brand new action. I put 9 rounds down range at my house no problem, and within the first 10 rounds at the range it started acting up. I’ll have to call Badger on Monday and see if they have any idea.

Clean the firing pin assembly with acetone to remove any grease and bump the firing pin protrusion up... I had a similar issue and the above method solved the problem.

A couple of things might be happening. With using two different triggers and getting different problems more than one thing is happening.
First thing is when i install any trigger after installing the trigger pins I come in from the top on the inside of the action and spread the ears on the trigger housing. Just a tap on each side with a punch will do. That alone can help with several issues.
Then I would look at the height of the trigger. It's possible the bolt cocking piece has an interference fit as it passes over the top lever of the trigger.
