Thinking of using a set of the alloy Badger Max 50 rings on a 300 RUM that will be used for hunting. Thinking of these cause I'll be scoping the rifle with a S&B Zenith 3-12x50 scope that is pretty heavy.

I'm thinking with the recoil of the 300 RUM and weight of the scope, these rings would be the ticket. You guys think its overkill??

Ok I'll say it...overkill. You don't see many (make than any)ring failures or scope slippage in the current 4 screw tactical rings when torqued properly.

Remember what that massive ring is clamping, an aluminum tube with lots of leverage to break itself in a fall. If you break ring, chances are the scope that was riding in them is trash.

Not the Max 50 rings but the badger rings that are used on the M107 50's.
Badger part number 306-76 USMC SASR 34mm “Issue Item” 1.49" 16 oz.
