Has anyone sent there bolt in to Badger to have them install a tactical knob? All the local smiths in my area "cringe" when I asked them to thread my Remington bolt handle...

I think they normally get bolt knobs back as quick as possible. Two years ago I sent mine in on a Monday had it back on Wednesday. But I don't know if they still get them turned around that quick anymore. Call and ask them.

Gap has 1 day turn around on knob installs. Call them to confirm
If the 'smiths in your area cringe at threading a Rem bolt I don't think I would let them touch my guns!

They never have and never will do any work on my guns. It's sad that they even call themselves gunsmith!! Looks like I'll be contacting GAP, Thanks for the info..

Where in Oklahoma are you?
If GAP can get it done for you, Id go with them. If not I know a few smiths around DFW that will do it.

Durant area bout a hour or so North of DFW off Hwy 69/75. Checking with GAP 2moro and maybe Surgeon they're only bout 60 miles from me...

Looks like the up-grades be on hold... Rifle is going back to Remington (for the second time) after only shooting three rds thru it since got it back from Remington for bolt face/extractor issues. After firing third round bolt face deformed and extractor broke in half. Using factory ammo, its not a hand loading issue... Rifle may end up as scrap metal and just order a GAP or Surgeon and enjoy the wait hahaha!!!

Have you looked at the TacOps knob kit? I had a badger knob installed, and sent my bolt to monteboy84 on here to conversion to a TacOps knob. have a look, it might the way to go for you. Matt does excellent work and turn around time is very very fast, for a very good price.

Sorry guys, no pics, it's already back at Remington. As far as the deformation, when compared it to my other 700's it looked egg-shaped. The casing had a chunk of the rim missing. IMHO believe the first service shop thin walled my bolt face when re-fitted extractor.. Idk, may just be the way I was looking at it, don't have anyway to measure it accurately, just really pissed that my brand new rifle is back at Remington for the second time in less than two months.. Should have just save my money and got a custom built rifle!!!!
