I have some Badger scope rings and bases that have different finishes; gray parkerizing and matte black. The set of rings with the grayish finish have a lower serial number. I also have a base with the grayish finish. Did Badger change the finish on their products to more of a matte black? If so, was there a reason for this?

Re: Badger Ordnance Finishes

I remember seeing on the SWFA site, the USMC M40A3 rings being "target grey" and the rest of the badger rings being matte black. I'm guessing certain things are certain colors. Why... good question? I'd like to know, too.

Re: Badger Ordnance Finishes

I didn't find a thread on this topic anywhere. It might be a recent change. I know there is a Badger representative on here. I would like to ask him or point him to this thread, but I can't find his username. This definitely isn't urgent enough to give Badger a call. I guess I'll send them an email.

Re: Badger Ordnance Finishes

I got a quick response for a non urgent message.

From Marty @ Badger:
