Some of the nv and thermal scopes have lrf and ballistic compensation now. That is interesting to me. Is it really that good of an upgrade?
Most of my hunting is on my own land where I am familiar with landmarks and distance. With thermal at night it is hard to judge the distance accurately. I zero for mpbr and have been pretty successful to 300 yards. Coyotes and skunks are my usual targets.
