Hi
I got a used Barnard S rifle. Tested it out and seemed fine.
Now, if I close the bolt and lift it, there's just a tiny lift pressure. More or less the same as my other Zermatt rifle. If I close the bolt, pull the trigger, with no round in the chamber of course, the lift is considerably heavy than without pulling the trigger. Is this normal? What causes this?

Thank you

You fired it. In order to fire again you have to recock that firing pin. If you don’t pull the trigger the firing pin remains held back by the trigger and is already cocked.
