I have been gathering the things I will need for a 260 Rem project. Just wondering if anyone has had success using Barnes bullets in the 6.5 It seems the Amax,Lapua,SMK's and Berger's get all the press. Are the Barnes just not capable of the kind of accuracy you guys look for? Kenny

Re: Barnes bullets

My 338RUM hunting rifle absolutley loves the 225 Barnes TTSX with a stout load of RL25. I've shot it out to 600yds. Accubonds shot ok.

Also loaded some 110TTSX in my GF's 270WSM. Little recoil and shoots near .5 MOA groups.

Re: Barnes bullets

Barnes are great hunting bullets, quite accurate, but cost a great deal more than most want to spend on high volume LR shooting. Hunting great.

Re: Barnes bullets

Barnes are not economical for high volume shooting. My experience with Barnes have been great using the 180TSX from a .300WM. This is a hunting round and hasn't let me down. The TSX a great hunting bullet which has a near cult following no doubt. As stated above, the use of Barnes for high volume precision work, would not fare well on ones wallet.

Re: Barnes bullets

I like the Barnes bullets. Deadly, accurate, and pricey.

As others have pointed out, they cost too much for me to shoot at a whim. I do keep magazines loaded with Barnes bullets for home defense.

Re: Barnes bullets

im like everyone else they shoot great, preform on game great. but they are to expensive to go blaze away at steel with so i stick with other brands. personally ive never got a berger bullet to shoot well. but ive heard alot of other sucess stories about them. ive tried them on 3 diffrent rifles. for target and hunting with my 260 i use 140 amax. im thinking of trying the 120ish amax one day
