Barrel connection on XM408

Hi Guys ,

Can some one tell me if the bolt locks into the action body its self ? , or a barrel extension that is on the end of the barrel ?

Into the barrel. You can fit the bolt into the receiver without the barrel, but the lugs won't lock into anything. The barrel indexes into the receiver, then with the bolt locked into the chamber the barrel nut is locked down - no headspace issues.

Im not sure if they are all like that. That might be new- I saw it on their web site. (EDM's) my 408 is not like that but it is not a thor. It would save some machining on the reciever and would allow them to mail barrels "head spaced" but you would have to have "that" reciever for it to work.
